I was reading this thing recently and it was saying, I’m going to butcher it, but basically it was saying that wishing you were somebody else is an act of violence against yourself. And I was like — I had never thought about it before, but it made a lot of sense. But the thing I was reading was framing it in terms of like, “and that’s a bad thing, don’t do that, don’t wish out of existence the person that you are” when in reality I feel like that’s why you do it in the first place. The violence is the whole point.
